What is Blu Tack®?
Blu Tack® is the original reusable adhesive that provides an ideal alternative to drawing pins or sticky tape, with over a thousand uses around the home, office and school. Everything you need to remove Blu Tack® from carpet
First things first, you will need two essential items, our Bostik Sticky Tape and a fine-tooth comb. You can pick up both at local supermarkets or a variety of other retailers - see where to buy Bostik products.

- Parcel tape or sticky tape
- A fine-tooth comb
Note: The adhesive properties of Bostik Blu Tack® increase with time, so take extra care when removing it after a period of months.
How to remove Blu Tack® from carpet
Step 1: Start by hand
Begin by working on the Blu Tack® by hand, removing as much as possible.
Tip: We recommend pinching the carpet strands with your fingers and trying to slide the Blu Tack® off the fabric. Take care not to squish the tack further into the carpet. Complete this motion several times to remove the bulk of the adhesive tack.
Step 2: Grab some Blu Tack®
Having removed the excess product, warm a good-sized piece of Blu Tack® in your hands. Dab it against the Blu Tack® in the carpet, then pull it away, repeating this step for as long as required to remove as much Blu Tack® as possible.
Step 3: Try parcel tape
If there are any small pieces remaining, wrap some parcel tape - sticky side outwards - around your knuckles. Then knead your knuckle into the affected area. The sticky tape's adhesive properties will work by pulling any stubborn Blu Tack® from the carpet. Repeat this step with fresh parcel tape as needed.
Step 4: Comb time
Finally, to help remove any last bits of adhesive from your carpet, use a fine-tooth comb and simply comb through the affected area.
Tip: The smaller the pieces of Blu Tack®, the finer the comb you'll need.
And you're done! You'll now have a Blu Tack®-free carpet to help make your room makeover complete.
The best surfaces for Blu Tack®
Blu Tack® performs best on non-porous surfaces, e.g. vinyl coated wallpapers, painted surfaces, glass, and metal.
We do not advise using it on absorbent or recently decorated surfaces, including silk-screen printed or hand stencilled wallpapers, or on porous brickwork - as it can leave a slight oily mark if left for a long period of time.
